Senior Marine Technician

About the role

An experienced Senior Marine Technician is sought to join the marine operations in Qatar. The role leads engine overhauls, diagnoses complex technical issues and maintains marine engines, generators and auxiliary systems so that vessels run safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and carry out complete overhauls of marine engines and generator sets
• Diagnose and resolve complex faults in engines, generators and auxiliary machinery
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime
• Identify spare parts needed and manage inventory with accurate tracking and documentation
• Maintain and repair auxiliary equipment such as pumps and compressors
• Carry out maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of onboard HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Ensure all maintenance complies with safety standards and operational procedures

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Marine Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Marine Technician or in a similar role
• Religion: Muslim and Christian candidates are eligible to apply

Required skills

• Strong expertise in diesel engines, inboard and outboard marine propulsion systems and powertrain components
• Troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles and auxiliary marine equipment
