Senior Physiotherapist

About the role

Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital is recruiting a Senior Physiotherapist who will work independently to plan, deliver and progress patient care while developing an area of specialization in sports physiotherapy. The role also includes leading staff development, mentoring and acting as Lead Clinical Physiotherapist in the direct supervisor's absence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, evaluate and progress patient care independently, using a range of assessment and treatment techniques.
• Lead in-service training and supervise the clinical workload of staff physiotherapists, including case reviews, workshops and courses.
• Develop an area of specialization in sports physiotherapy, with teaching and mentorship.
• Manage and develop physiotherapists, and act as Lead Clinical Physiotherapist in the supervisor's absence.
• Take part in clinical audits, protocol reviews and evidence-based practice, and contribute to clinical governance.
• Teach nursing, medical and multidisciplinary team members about physiotherapy management.
• Maintain patient records and statistics, including independent charting using Cerner.
• Complete annual patient safety competencies and take part in research projects when requested.

Required profile

• Minimum 9-11 years of experience, of which 3-6 years in a similar position, preferably in a similar industry.
• Demonstrated leadership through clinical mentorship, specialization, supervision and/or project development.
• Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy or equivalent; a Master's or PhD in Sport Physiotherapy is desired.
• Fulfilment of all licensing requirements; professional certifications are a plus.
• An interest in competitive sports is advantageous.
