Senior Planning Engineer – Oil & Gas

About the role

A Senior Planning Engineer is needed to develop and maintain project master plans and schedules across the full lifecycle of oil and gas projects, from initiation to close-out. The role covers planning, scheduling, monitoring, forecasting, progress reporting and contractor performance control, with work in the GCC being desirable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project master plans and schedules for all phases and stage gates, and give planning input to the execution plan, risk management plan, change management plan and close-out report.
• Plan and monitor projects on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis through management reports, and keep project builder data in SAP.
• Maintain the integrated resource planning system in Primavera and prepare schedule inputs for annual budgets, budget variances and change impact notes.
• Review and validate bidders' technical proposals, including schedule analysis, man-hour allocations and resource histograms, and incorporate planning requirements into tender documents.
• Review and endorse contractor planning packages, monitor progress, run time and progress variance analysis, and suggest corrective actions.
• Carry out what-if and schedule risk analysis, estimate value of work done each month, and review contractor extension of time claims.
• Take part in developing project planning procedures and work instructions.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or equivalent in an engineering discipline; PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
• At least 15 years of project planning experience in oil and gas, including offshore greenfield and brownfield jacket and topside fabrication and installation.
• At least 5 years in national or international oil companies preferred.
• Experience in the GCC is desirable.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.

• Premiera Risk Analysis and Power BI are preferable.
