Senior Radiation Safety Officer

About the role
The Senior Radiation Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of radiation safety strategies, standards and procedures across QatarEnergy. The role ensures that radiation risks are managed to ALARP levels, comply with statutory and corporate requirements, and follow industry best practices.
Key responsibilities
- Advise senior management on radiation safety matters and develop effective safety strategies.
- Design, implement and maintain radiation safety standards, procedures and ALARP assessments.
- Monitor compliance with national regulations and corporate policies for all radiation sources.
- Lead incident investigations, risk assessments and root‑cause analyses related to radiation safety.
- Provide technical guidance and training to multidisciplinary teams in a multicultural environment.
- Prepare and present detailed safety reports to strategic stakeholders.
Required profile
- Minimum 15 years of experience in radiation safety.
- 5‑10 years of experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry with responsibility for radiation safety.
- BSc/BEng in Engineering or a Science discipline.
- Chartered Safety Professional (CSP) credential or equivalent international safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH).
- Valid national licence as a Radiation Protection Officer (RPO).
- Excellent English communication skills; Arabic is a plus.
