Ship Agency Officer

About the role

The Ship Agency Officer will coordinate the operational execution and financial administration of all shipping‑agency activities for the LNG Shipping Department of QatarEnergy’s Marketing Directorate. The role also supports bunker‑related commercial and financial processes to guarantee timely, compliant and cost‑effective bunker procurement and port‑call arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate global operational execution of shipping‑agency tasks.
• Manage financial administration, including budgeting, invoicing and contract oversight.
• Support bunker procurement, ensuring compliance, cost efficiency and timely delivery.
• Arrange and monitor port calls, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
• Maintain accurate records and reports in line with corporate standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the shipping or related industry.
• Strong understanding of financial activities and contract administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Shipping or a related field.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work under pressure and within cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel (modeling and operations).
• Proficiency in MS Word.
• Experience with SAP.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
