Shipyard Estimator (Marine / Offshore)

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Shipyard Estimator to produce accurate cost proposals for ship repair, dry‑docking and new‑build projects. The role works closely with engineering, production and procurement teams to ensure competitive and reliable quotations for marine and offshore vessels.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for ship repair, dry docking and new‑build projects.
• Review technical specifications, drawings and client requirements to develop accurate quotations.
• Conduct material, labour and equipment cost analysis for marine projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, production and procurement to gather required inputs.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations for competitiveness and accuracy.
• Identify project risks and cost‑optimization opportunities during estimation.
• Maintain historical cost data and continuously improve estimation accuracy.
• Support tender submissions and commercial proposals.
• Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify scope and technical details.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in shipyard estimation (repair or new building).
• Strong experience in dry‑docking projects; offshore vessel experience highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with estimation tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
