Skilled Welder & Fabricator – Advanced Welding & Fabrication

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Welder cum Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will independently plan and execute high‑quality welds, fabricate metal components, and ensure strict adherence to safety and workmanship standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication layouts, and welding symbols.
• Determine welding procedures, including joint preparation, root gap, root face, and multi‑pass sequences.
• Perform MMA (SMAW) and MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding on various metals in all positions.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, oxy‑acetylene torches, drill presses, grinders, and shop saws.
• Fabricate, fit, and assemble metal structures to engineering specifications.
• Select appropriate welding consumables based on material and application.
• Set up, calibrate, inspect, and maintain welding equipment and hand tools.
• Comply with Health, Safety & Environment requirements, including PPE, permits, risk assessments, and safe material handling.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator in a manufacturing or heavy‑industrial environment.
• Strong proficiency in MMA and MIG/MAG welding; TIG welding is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience with fabrication equipment, including plasma cutting and oxy‑acetylene systems.
• Sound knowledge of metallurgy, welding techniques, and best fabrication practices.
• Independent problem‑solving skills and commitment to high‑quality, safe work.
