Supply Manager - Nationals

About the role

The Supply Manager will lead the Supply Department, ensuring timely and cost‑effective procurement of materials in line with HBKU procurement policies. This senior position oversees a team, drives process improvements, and builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enforce, and continuously improve supply and delivery procedures to reduce risk and boost efficiency.
• Manage and supervise the supply team, assign tasks, monitor performance, and guarantee on‑time delivery of goods and services.
• Set annual departmental goals, define KPIs, and track performance against targets.
• Maintain effective working relationships with user departments and major suppliers.
• Oversee service‑level compliance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
• Establish contractor performance evaluation systems for outsourced supply functions.
• Lead supply‑focused projects such as surplus material disposal, auctions, and system enhancements.
• Recruit, develop, motivate staff, conduct performance evaluations, and provide training and recognition.
• Mentor the team, foster a positive work environment, and plan succession for business continuity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field; CIPS certification preferred.
• 8‑10 years of procurement and supply experience, including at least 3 years in a senior supervisory role.
• Exceptional analytical ability to interpret complex technical information and make informed decisions.
• Strong project and time‑management skills with the capacity to handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and ERP systems.
