Vice President – Entertainment Content Acquisition

About the role

This senior position leads the content acquisition strategy for a fast‑growing streaming and entertainment platform operating across the Middle East and beyond. Reporting to the Chief Entertainment Content Officer, the role shapes the portfolio of movies, scripted series, kids’ programming, documentaries, lifestyle content and third‑party channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑platform content acquisition strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead negotiations and licensing of premium entertainment titles, securing high‑value agreements.
• Build and maintain executive‑level relationships with Hollywood studios, global distributors, production companies and rights holders.
• Analyse market trends, audience behaviour and competitive dynamics to inform investment decisions.
• Own the acquisition budget, financial planning and portfolio performance, ensuring measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Programming, Strategy, Operations, Finance, Legal and Product teams.
• Present acquisition recommendations and performance updates to senior leadership.
• Mentor and develop an international acquisition team, fostering an innovative culture.

Required profile

• Recognised leader in media, broadcast or streaming with extensive international negotiation experience.
• 15+ years of experience in content acquisition, media rights, content strategy or commercial partnerships.
• Proven track record of negotiating major licensing agreements with studios and distributors.
• Deep understanding of premium entertainment content, audience trends and OTT/Pay‑TV business models.
