Adjunct Instructor – Art Foundation Drawing Studio

About the role

VCUarts Qatar is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach ARTF 131 – Drawing Studio for the Fall 2026 semester. The course is a 6‑hour weekly studio class (3 credits) limited to first‑year fine arts and design majors, focusing on foundational drawing principles and contemporary applications.

Key responsibilities

• Complete all required university training (e.g., FERPA) before the first class.
• Provide a detailed syllabus outlining objectives, grading criteria, and policies.
• Prepare and deliver studio sessions that align with departmental learning outcomes.
• Coordinate with other ARTF 131 faculty to ensure curriculum consistency.
• Hold two weekly office hours and maintain email availability for student support.
• Assess assignments, give timely feedback, and submit midterm and final grades.
• Attend departmental meetings and uphold university policies.

Required profile

• Graduate degree (MFA or equivalent) in drawing or studio art.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities.
• Enthusiasm for teaching in a multicultural environment.
• Commitment to professionalism and civility with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
• Eligibility to work in Qatar under local immigration regulations.
