Application Developer – Enterprise Systems

About the role

The Application Developer will design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications for Qatar Stock Exchange, focusing on Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. The role translates trading‑related business requirements into reliable data structures, calculations, and system logic while supporting integrations and data interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance enterprise applications and their underlying database structures.
• Write, troubleshoot and optimise complex SQL and PL/SQL queries; support database administration activities.
• Translate business concepts, rules and metrics into data requirements and system logic.
• Validate business requirements and calculation logic, identify gaps, and clarify assumptions with business users.
• Investigate production issues, implement application changes and provide end‑user support.

Required profile

• Minimum seven years of experience developing and supporting enterprise applications.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with sufficient capital‑markets knowledge.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with business and technical teams.

Required skills

• Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development.
• Oracle database administration and query optimisation.
• Relational database design, data modelling and data structures.
• Integration development and data‑interface support between enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with Oracle APEX and FIX messaging is a plus.
