Assistant Construction Manager – Civil Projects

About the role

The Assistant Construction Manager (Civil) will support the delivery of civil works for Oil & Gas and Substation projects, ensuring that all construction activities are performed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with approved designs and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise civil construction activities including foundations, cable trenches, duct banks, control buildings, paving, drainage, and retaining structures.
• Review construction drawings, method statements and technical documents before execution.
• Coordinate with engineering, design teams and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and site issues.
• Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, materials and other resources to maximise productivity.
• Monitor material consumption, prepare reconciliation reports and control wastage.
• Ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly progress reports and maintain project documentation.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, coordinate vendor deliveries and support site logistics.
• Participate in project meetings, provide updates and propose corrective actions to meet milestones.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing civil construction works for Oil & Gas or Substation projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, quality assurance procedures and HSE regulations.
• Ability to plan, allocate and monitor resources effectively.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills with internal teams, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Experience in preparing progress reports and material reconciliation documentation.
