Assistant Sous Chef - Banquets

About the role

The Assistant Sous Chef – Banquets will support the banquet kitchen team in delivering high‑quality food service for large events at our Doha conference centre. This role combines hands‑on culinary preparation with supervision of kitchen staff to ensure consistent presentation and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen workers during banquet service.
• Determine food presentation, create decorative displays and ensure proper portioning, arrangement and garnish.
• Monitor food quantities prepared and communicate menu specials or out‑of‑stock items to service staff.
• Prepare special meals or substitute items as required.
• Assist cooks with various tasks and provide necessary items and supplies.
• Maintain stock levels of kitchen supplies and food, and keep kitchen logs for food safety programs.
• Ensure food quality meets specifications and report any deviations to the manager.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching kitchen personnel.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• 4 to 6 years of relevant culinary experience.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a banquet or large‑scale food service environment.
• No specific license or certification required.
