Benefit Manager

About the role

As the Benefits Manager you will lead the design, governance and administration of Qatar Airways’ global insured benefits programmes. You will ensure that medical, life, disability, personal accident and wellness schemes remain competitive, compliant and aligned with the airline’s business objectives while delivering an outstanding employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee administration and governance of all insured employee benefit programmes worldwide.
• Develop and implement global benefit strategies that support the company’s employee value proposition.
• Lead annual insurance renewal exercises, negotiate premiums, coverage terms and policy enhancements with insurers and brokers.
• Manage relationships with brokers, consultants, insurers and third‑party administrators, ensuring service level compliance.
• Act as primary escalation point for complex, high‑value employee cases such as exceptional medical, disability, critical illness and death‑in‑service claims.
• Analyse benefit utilisation, cost trends and insurer recommendations to identify improvement opportunities.
• Conduct global and regional market benchmarking to keep benefits competitive.
• Design, review and enhance benefit schemes across diverse workforces, considering local regulations and business needs.
• Ensure compliance with local, regional and international legislation and corporate governance requirements.
• Partner with external consultants for market reviews, tender exercises and healthcare cost management initiatives.
• Prepare business cases and recommendations for benefit plan enhancements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing global employee benefits programmes, preferably in a large multinational.
• Strong negotiation skills with insurers, brokers and benefit providers.
• Excellent analytical ability to interpret benefit data, utilisation trends and financial performance.
• In‑depth knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to handle complex, sensitive employee cases with discretion and professionalism.
