Carpenter – Facility Maintenance

About the role

The Carpenter will support the facilities team by responding to guest repair requests and performing preventive maintenance across the property. This full‑time position combines hands‑on carpentry work with general building upkeep in a hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect tools, equipment and machines visually and report any defects.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition parts as needed.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC units, and other guestroom items.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any repair work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping tasks, including sprinkler maintenance.
• Document daily activities and communicate issues to subsequent shifts.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and carpentry.
• Ability to work safely, follow company safety policies and use personal protective equipment.
• Physical capability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lb and perform heavier tasks with assistance.
• Clear communication skills and professional appearance.
