Chief Baker

About the role

The Chief Baker will lead the bakery operations at Banana Island Resort Doha, delivering high‑quality breads, pastries, and cakes for guests and events. This senior position combines culinary creativity with strong team leadership in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and mentor the bakery team.
• Plan and oversee daily production of breads, pastries, cakes and other baked goods.
• Develop new recipes and seasonal bakery items.
• Maintain consistent product quality, taste and presentation.
• Schedule production based on business needs.
• Monitor inventory, order ingredients and control food costs.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain bakery equipment and a clean, organized work environment.
• Coordinate with other kitchen departments for banquets and special events.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Baking or Pastry.
• 4–8 years of bakery experience, including leadership in a hotel, resort or commercial bakery.
• Strong knowledge of artisan breads, laminated doughs and pastry techniques.
• Proven leadership, communication and organisational abilities.
• Solid understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures.
