Civil Inspector

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Inspector to join EGIS’s multidisciplinary team. The role involves performing civil and structural inspections on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out civil and structural site inspections in line with project specifications and applicable regulations.
• Check civil and structural materials for quality, compliance and suitability before approval.
• Conduct comprehensive quality checks to verify adherence to design drawings and construction standards.
• Document inspection findings, test results and observations in detailed reports and site records.
• Identify defects, non-conformities and deviations, and escalate issues to project management.
• Perform material testing and measurements to confirm that specifications are met.
• Liaise with contractors, engineers and other site personnel to communicate inspection requirements and findings.
• Maintain accurate and organised records of all inspections, certifications and approvals.

Required profile

• BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in civil and structural inspection.
• Extensive experience with mega water and wastewater facilities such as pump stations, shafts and sewage treatment plants.
• Proven expertise in QA/QC inspections on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in preparing detailed inspection reports and technical documentation.
