Elementary Student Support Teacher – Start August 2026

About the role

GEMS American Academy in Qatar is seeking a dedicated Student Support Teacher for its elementary school, commencing on 1 August 2026. The role focuses on delivering the curriculum while providing tailored support to meet the diverse needs of students, including ESL learners, late entrants, and gifted or struggling pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Uphold GEMS Core Values and school policies at all times.
• Plan, deliver and assess quality lessons that cater to varied learning styles.
• Maintain accurate records of curriculum plans, attendance, assessments and resources.
• Teach individualised lessons for students with specific needs (ESL, low academic ability, gifted, etc.).
• Mark work, record progress and use assessment data to adapt instruction.
• Integrate media and technology effectively in classroom activities.
• Promote student well‑being, cultural awareness and self‑discipline.
• Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed of progress.
• Participate in co‑curricular, extra‑curricular programmes and school events.
• Attend staff meetings, contribute to committees and support CPD initiatives.

Required profile

• Hold a B.Ed or a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Demonstrate GEMS core values of respect, innovation, leadership, purpose and tenacity.
• Commit to professional development and collaborative teamwork.
