Field Service Engineer – Symphony Plus

About the role

ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver high‑complexity service work on Symphony Plus and Infi90/800xA control systems. The role is based onsite in Qatar and focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction, system performance, and identifying new service opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute medium to high‑complexity service tasks according to ABB guidelines and customer orders.
• Provide superior customer experience, communicate timelines, and support customer retention.
• Identify and develop new service business opportunities in collaboration with customers and internal teams.
• Translate complex project requirements into ABB technical solutions and validate design solutions.
• Coach technicians and engineers, supervise complex site activities, and ensure effective use of service contracts.
• Participate in major projects for Infi90/Symphony‑based 800xA systems, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

Required profile

• Graduate Engineer in Electrical, Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in customer support, project or service engineering on 800xA‑based Infi90/Symphony systems, preferably in Oil & Gas or Power & Water.
• Hands‑on experience with system installation, maintenance, industrial networking, and cybersecurity for 800xA platforms.
• Strong analytical thinking, resilience, and ability to work under pressure.
