Generator Technician – Patriot System (Qatar)

About the role

The Power Generation Technician will support the Qatar Patriot Sustainment Program by refurbishing and sustaining diesel‑powered Lechmotoren generators used with the Patriot air‑defense system. The position is based onsite in Qatar and requires strict adherence to technical manuals and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, modify, refurbish and reassemble 150 kW, 30 kW and 15 kW Lechmotoren generators according to applicable technical manuals.
• Perform depot‑level diagnostics, fault isolation and repair of generator assemblies.
• Oversee organizational and direct‑support repairs in line with US Army 10/20/30 PMCS maintenance standards.
• Conduct maintenance inspections, parts ordering, record keeping and tool maintenance.
• Set up and facilitate the in‑country work location for the refurbishment effort.
• Train and advise locally hired maintenance personnel on operational and technical aspects.
• Follow all safety rules and wear required personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship (required to access certain systems).
• Graduate of the US Army Power Generation Equipment Repairer (MOS 52D) course, a technical school/manufacturer course on diesel power generation equipment, or equivalent on‑the‑job training.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, fault isolation, disassembly, repair, assembly and checkout of diesel generators.
