HVAC Technician

About the role

We are seeking an HVAC Technician to join the engineering team at Souq Waqif Boutique Hotel By Tivoli. The successful candidate will install, service and repair temperature and air‑quality control systems across the property, ensuring guest comfort and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, maintain and provide technical attention to all electrical and mechanical refrigeration systems, including freezers, fridges, ice makers, fan coil units and chillers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all air‑conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Monitor performance of refrigeration components and verify door‑closing systems on walk‑in coolers and freezers.
• Maintain defrosting systems and ice‑maker automation.
• Respond to maintenance requests from all hotel departments.
• Clean fan coil unit and air‑handling unit filters routinely.
• Check performance of air‑conditioning and chilled water systems.
• Collaborate with engineering colleagues to diagnose failures and set up system functions.
• Control venting of CFCs and oversee overhauls of HVAC equipment.
• Inspect refrigeration oil levels and manage major repairs.
• Coordinate parts purchases with the engineering storekeeper.
• Ensure all work complies with local technical regulations and safety standards.

Required profile

• Documented training from a technical or vocational institute.
• At least one year of experience operating within a hotel engineering department.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Experience with VRF/VRV systems is a plus.
