About the role
The Lead Cargo Trucking Operations Officer will oversee and optimise the trucking solutions that support Qatar Airways Cargo’s air freight network. This role ensures seamless movement of cargo, compliance with service level agreements, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
Key responsibilities
- Review and finalise trucking agreements with ground service agents (GSAs) and ensure contracts include tiered tonnage discounts.
- Support the expansion and optimisation of the trucking network to capture new sales opportunities.
- Coordinate the issuance of RFQs/RFPs, liaise with contracts and other departments, and manage vendor selection.
- Monitor market pricing, maintain competitive rate structures, and ensure rates are correctly entered into systems such as CROAMIS.
- Implement and enforce SLAs with trucking providers, ensuring scheduled services and ad‑hoc trucks meet agreed timeframes.
- Facilitate effective communication between trucking suppliers and internal departments (e.g., reservations, customer service, regional operations).
- Oversee the administration of contract requirements, renewals, and compliance documentation.
Required profile
- Proven experience in cargo or logistics operations, preferably within air freight environments.
- Strong analytical skills to assess trucking solutions, pricing, and performance metrics.
- Experience negotiating and managing contracts, including RFQ/RFP processes.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple internal functions and external vendors.
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on maintaining SLA compliance and operational efficiency.
