Lead Subsea Operations

About the role

The Lead Subsea Operations role ensures that all manned and unmanned subsea activities are performed in strict compliance with international codes, classification societies, flag state and local regulations, as well as company procedures. The position drives a robust vetting and monitoring programme for personnel, equipment and contractors to minimise risk and support safe, efficient offshore operations.

Key responsibilities

• Promote an incident‑free environment by embedding a strong HSE culture and ensuring all activities follow the company’s HSE policy.
• Lead subsea incident investigations, identify root causes and capture lessons learned.
• Support the Head of Marine & Subsea with budget management, forecasting and cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Implement strategies and technologies to help the company meet GHG‑reduction targets.
• Act as the Subsea Technical Review Panel (TRP) representative, set standards and approve technical deviations.
• Maintain and monitor compliance with CMS rules, classification society requirements and flag‑state regulations for personnel, equipment and operations.
• Oversee a comprehensive vetting and assurance programme for all subsea personnel and equipment.
• Manage contractor compliance, support tender processes and evaluate technical proposals.

Required profile

• Proactive and highly organised with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Deep understanding of underwater/subsea operations and related regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience supervising offshore contractors and conducting regular audits.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international subsea codes, classification societies and flag‑state regulations.
• Expertise in HSE standards and incident investigation methodologies.
• Budgeting, cost‑control and financial forecasting capabilities.
• Contract management and technical tender evaluation.
• Implementation of vetting and assurance programmes for personnel and equipment.
