Lighting and Control System Engineer (Roads O&M)

About the role

The Lighting and Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and performance of all lighting and lighting‑control assets on the RF‑001 expressway network. This includes conventional road lighting, decorative and architectural lighting, smart lighting control networks, and under‑pass and tunnel lighting.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and maintain decorative and architectural lighting on bridges, interchanges and landmark structures, managing DMX512/RDM fixtures, scene programming and colour‑change sequences.
• Support the planning, trial and future rollout of LoRaWAN‑based smart lighting control, including configuration of DALI/DALI‑2 drivers, dimming profiles and energy telemetry.
• Operate and maintain under‑pass and tunnel lighting in accordance with CIE 88 and BS 5489 standards, handling stage dimming, luminance controllers, photometric sensors and traffic‑linked control logic.
• Diagnose data‑line, driver and node faults, maintain controller backups, scene libraries and as‑built documentation.
• Verify emergency and standby lighting, UPS‑supported circuits and integration with tunnel SCADA, ventilation and incident‑management systems.
