Marine Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Marine Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all marine electrical systems aboard vessels supporting Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara. This role ensures reliable power supply, safety compliance and optimal performance of generators, switchboards, batteries and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of marine electrical systems on board.
• Maintain and service generators, switchboards, batteries, shore‑power systems, navigation lights and control panels.
• Execute Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) for all electrical equipment.
• Inspect, test and maintain shore‑power supply pedestals for safe operation.
• Prepare Scope of Work (SOW) for electrical sections prior to dry‑dock and during normal operations.
• Supervise and verify electrical work during dry‑dock, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Conduct final inspections and certify completion before vessel re‑commissioning.
• Manage requisition of spare parts, maintain accurate documentation and respond to electrical complaints.
• Standby for 24/7 marine electrical emergencies and represent the Marine Engineering department during authority inspections.
