Mechanical Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Steadfast is seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer for a 6‑month project in Ras Laffan, Qatar, with the possibility of extension until work completion. The role involves hands‑on commissioning of both static and rotary equipment, troubleshooting, and supervising the field team on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform actual testing and commissioning of static equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and pipelines.
• Conduct commissioning of rotary equipment including pumps, compressors, and turbines.
• Identify and resolve technical issues through systematic troubleshooting.
• Supervise and coordinate the field commissioning team to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Document test results, generate commissioning reports, and hand over completed systems to operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of proven mechanical commissioning experience.
• Hands‑on experience with testing and commissioning, not limited to construction or installation.
• Background in oil & gas and desalination projects.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Immediate availability and residency in Qatar.
