Part-time PhD Peer Reviewer – Manufacturing Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an experienced researcher with a PhD to join our editorial team as a part-time peer reviewer for manuscripts in manufacturing engineering. The role is long‑term, stable and can be performed remotely, allowing you to contribute your expertise while maintaining flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and originality of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology and reproducibility.
• Check the literature review for relevance and completeness.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and scientific soundness.
• Provide constructive, clear and concise feedback to authors.
• Identify any ethical concerns or potential conflicts of interest.
• Recommend acceptance, revision or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and written communication abilities.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality and objectivity.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
