Part-time PhD Peer Reviewer – Transportation Engineering

About the role

This is a long‑term, stable part‑time position that can be performed remotely. You will provide expert peer‑review services for manuscripts in transportation engineering, ensuring scientific rigor and originality.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty of submitted manuscripts and determine their contribution to the field.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility of the research.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity, validity, and significance.
• Provide constructive, clear, and concise feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent advanced degree in transportation engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent written communication skills with a focus on clear, constructive feedback.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality and objectivity.
• Prior experience as an academic peer reviewer is highly desirable.
