Part‑time Peer Reviewer – Mining Engineering (PhD)

About the role

This is a long‑term, stable part‑time position that allows you to work remotely as a peer reviewer for manuscripts in Mining Engineering. The role is ideal for a PhD holder who wants to contribute to scholarly quality while managing their own schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty of submitted manuscripts and determine their contribution to the field.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility of the research.
• Check that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity, relevance, and scientific soundness.
• Provide constructive, clear, and objective feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in Mining Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and written communication abilities.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Previous experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.
