Programme Officer – Qatar Country Programme (Expedited)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Programme Officer to lead and coordinate its Qatar Country Programme. Reporting directly to the Chief of Mission, the officer will ensure effective implementation of migration‑related projects, liaise with government and partner agencies, and support capacity‑building initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of the Qatar Country Programme, from conceptualisation to evaluation.
• Coordinate project implementation, monitoring, reporting and compliance with IOM standards.
• Develop and deliver capacity‑building activities for national partners.
• Liaise with governmental, diplomatic and international stakeholders to secure support and alignment.
• Prepare technical and financial reports for regional and headquarters units.
• Support the development of new initiatives in migration management, labour mobility and human development.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development, Business/Public Administration, International Studies or a related field, with at least five years of relevant experience; or a university degree with seven years of experience.
• Proven experience in programme design, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to work with governmental and diplomatic authorities and international institutions.
• Experience in programme development and capacity‑building activities.
