Project Controls Specialist – Internal Audit

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned project controls professional to join our internal audit team. You will apply your EPC cost engineering, planning and claims expertise to independently review and validate the numbers produced by project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse cost reports, forecasts and cost‑to‑complete estimates across EPC and capital projects, including joint‑venture structures.
• Review schedule quality, critical‑path logic, delay analysis and Extension‑of‑Time (EOT) claims.
• Assess variation orders, claims and contractual entitlement positions for completeness and supporting evidence.
• Evaluate contractor and subcontractor performance data and progress measurement methods.
• Develop structured review frameworks such as Risk Control Matrices.
• Prepare clear written findings that drive action from project directors and commercial teams.
• Facilitate discussions with project directors, controls managers and contracts teams to agree on next steps.
• Track identified issues through to closure.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or related).
• 6‑8+ years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, planning/scheduling or contracts/commercial on EPC, construction or infrastructure projects.
• Deep knowledge of EPC contract structures, claims, variations and joint‑venture arrangements.
• Strong analytical ability to interrogate cost and schedule data.
• Excellent written communication to translate technical issues for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, CCP or other project controls qualifications.
