Public Area Cleaner

About the role

The Public Area Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment in the restaurant’s public spaces. Working under the supervision of the Restaurant Manager, you will ensure that all guest‑facing areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and presentation throughout operating hours.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all restaurant public areas before, during, and after service.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and polish floors.
• Sanitize tables, chairs, high chairs and other guest‑contact surfaces.
• Empty trash bins, replace liners and keep waste areas tidy.
• Clean glass doors, windows, mirrors and display areas.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures and decorative items.
• Refill cleaning supplies and restroom amenities.
• Maintain cleanliness of service and beverage stations.
• Promptly clean spills to ensure guest safety.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment or safety hazards.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
• Assist with deep‑cleaning schedules and special cleaning tasks.
• Support the restaurant team with cleanliness‑related requests during busy periods.
• Adhere to the company’s environmental, health and safety procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor.

Required profile

• Ability to follow supervisors’ instructions and company policies.
• Commitment to food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Willingness to use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain a tidy environment.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout the shift.
