Recreation Manager

About the role

The Recreation Manager supports the Director of Recreation in overseeing the pool and beach areas at Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz‑Carlton Hotel in Doha. The role ensures daily upkeep, cleanliness, and smooth operation of cabana units while delivering exceptional guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage recreation staff, covering duties in their absence.
• Maintain pool and beach facilities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Coordinate and schedule events, programs, and activities for guests, including children’s programs, sand painting, bonfires and team‑building events.
• Manage external vendors such as water‑sports and scuba providers.
• Order and control supplies, equipment, tools and uniforms required for operations.
• Oversee the operation of cabana units and related guest services.
• Monitor service quality, respond to guest needs and strive to improve satisfaction.
• Support human‑resources functions including training, performance feedback and coaching.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of recreation/health‑club experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Health Education, Physical Education, Hotel & Restaurant Management or a related field.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to model service behavior.
• Leadership skills to coach, mentor and develop team members.
• Ability to plan, prioritize and organise daily tasks and events.

Required skills

• Knowledge of pool and beach maintenance procedures.
• Experience managing vendors and coordinating recreational activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle supplies ordering and inventory control.
