Security Operations Officer – Data Security Specialist

About the role

The Security Operations Officer – Data Security Specialist will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of data protection controls for a technology solutions provider in Doha. The role focuses on safeguarding data during mega sports events and normal operations, working closely with application, infrastructure, and incident response teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy data loss prevention, data masking, tokenization, and classification solutions across enterprise and cloud environments.
• Implement and manage data protection controls in Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure, including encryption at rest, in transit, and in use with BYOK strategies.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to embed security into the data lifecycle and support AI data governance.
• Maintain cryptographic standards, key management, and enterprise encryption practices.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, Qatar’s NCSA framework, and other privacy regulations.
• Secure relational and NoSQL databases, deploy database activity monitoring, and conduct regular hardening reviews.
• Produce compliance and risk reports, define data security KPIs, and maintain dashboards for continuous monitoring.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in information security with a focus on data protection, cryptography, and database security.
• Bilingual Arabic speaker preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with GCP and Azure cloud platforms.
