Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy and provide technical oversight for a major infrastructure programme in Qatar. The role involves ensuring that civil and infrastructure works meet project specifications, authority requirements and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review civil engineering designs, drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Provide technical supervision and support during project execution.
• Monitor construction activities against approved designs and specifications.
• Review method statements, material submissions and related technical documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and client representatives to resolve technical and constructability issues.
• Support progress reporting to project and client management.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and authority requirements.
• Assist with inspection, testing, commissioning and hand‑over activities.
• Coordinate civil works with other engineering disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Extensive experience on major civil/infrastructure projects, preferably in roads, utilities, drainage or municipal infrastructure.
• Previous consultancy or client‑side engineering experience is advantageous.
• Experience in Qatar or GCC infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Professional/Chartered Engineer status is a plus.
• Strong technical reporting and stakeholder‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international engineering standards.
