Senior Frontend Engineer – Web Architecture & Performance

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead architecture, performance and scalability initiatives across multiple web platforms within our PCORE team. You will work on large‑scale, complex codebases, identify bottlenecks and define unified frontend standards that serve the entire organization.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and improve the architecture of existing frontend applications.
• Investigate large and complex codebases across multiple projects.
• Identify technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and inconsistent implementation patterns.
• Design and implement unified frontend standards and reusable approaches.
• Lead frontend architecture decisions across teams.
• Improve web application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work with microfrontend architectures and shared frontend platforms.
• Optimize rendering performance, bundle size, state management, API interaction patterns, caching strategies, lazy loading and code splitting.
• Design scalable component libraries and shared UI systems.
• Collaborate with backend, platform, DevOps, product, and design teams.
• Support migration and modernization initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and promote frontend engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in React, Next.js, TypeScript, Redux and modern state‑management approaches.
• Extensive experience with microfrontend architectures, modular frontend systems, shared component libraries and monorepo approaches.
• Deep understanding of rendering lifecycle, browser performance, memory usage, network optimization, bundle optimization and SSR/CSR trade‑offs.
• Proven ability to optimize large‑scale production web applications and quickly understand unfamiliar codebases.
• Solid experience with REST APIs, GraphQL and WebSockets.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and frontend observability/monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of webpack/Vite build systems, code splitting, caching and CDN behavior.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to define and drive engineering standards across teams.
