Ship Management Assurance Officer

About the role

The Ship Management Assurance Officer provides independent assurance on commercial processes and documentation related to the marine transportation of LNG and hydrocarbon products. The role acts as a bridge between charterers, sellers and ship operators, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and audit charterer and seller commercial documentation for LNG and hydrocarbon shipments.
• Conduct lead audits of ship management practices, vetting, operations, terminal interactions and incident investigations.
• Develop and maintain assurance frameworks aligned with industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to influence compliance improvements.
• Prepare clear audit reports and present findings to senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in the marine industry, including vetting, operations, terminals or incident investigations.
• Class 1 Marine Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer) or a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marine Studies or a related field.
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.

Required skills

• Lead auditor certification (preferred).
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
