Shipyard Facility & Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Shipyard Facility & Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance function at Erhama Bin Shipyard in Doha, Qatar. This full‑time, on‑site role is responsible for both reactive breakdown repairs and proactive preventive maintenance across all operational equipment, services and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive maintenance strategy aligned with OEM guidance.
• Plan, schedule and oversee all maintenance activities to maximise equipment availability while respecting vessel stemming schedules.
• Supervise the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels of parts and materials and establish multiple supplier options for critical spares.
• Create and enforce safety, environmental and quality standards for all equipment and facilities.
• Prepare and manage the annual maintenance budget, forecasts and purchase authorisations.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and lead the implementation of KPIs.
• Coach, mentor and develop a high‑performing maintenance team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading maintenance teams in a shipyard, heavy‑industry or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, inventories and supplier relationships.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) implementation and use.
