Skipper (Boat Captain)

About the role

The Skipper will be the primary operator of the resort’s vessel, ensuring safe, comfortable, and memorable experiences for guests while overseeing all aspects of boat operations.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate and fulfill guest needs, handling inquiries to full satisfaction.
• Take overall charge of the boat, ensuring safety, security, and comfort of passengers and crew.
• Lead, train, and monitor crew performance; manage uniform standards and conduct.
• Prepare and clean the vessel before each departure and maintain cleanliness at all times.
• Navigate the boat safely, follow approved passage plans, and handle any deviations.
• Send distress alerts, respond to emergencies, and follow all safety protocols.
• Maintain logbooks, manifests, and all required certificates and manuals.
• Ensure the vessel is fully bunkered with fresh water and fuel, and manage black‑water discharge.
• Enforce no‑smoking, environmental protection, and other safety policies.
• Report equipment issues, crew absences, and unsafe acts to management.
• Conduct daily briefings, departure checks, and hand over operational information to the next skipper.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating vessels and managing a crew in a hospitality or resort setting.
• Strong knowledge of maritime safety, navigation, and emergency procedures.
• Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest service.
