Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will manage the full accounts‑payable cycle, ensuring accurate invoice processing, timely vendor payments and support for month‑end close.

Key responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, verify against purchase orders, contracts and supporting documents.
• Prepare and execute payment runs via bank transfers, cheques or other approved methods.
• Reconcile supplier statements, resolve discrepancies and monitor outstanding payables.
• Maintain accurate AP records, supporting documentation and compliance with company policies.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing by preparing schedules, reconciliations and accruals.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with procurement and other departments to resolve invoice and payment issues.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of VAT, withholding tax and financial compliance regulations is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho Books or Tally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
