Assistant Director of Sales – Government & Corporate Segment

About the role

The Assistant Director of Sales will lead the Government and Corporate segment for Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha, driving revenue growth across domestic and international markets. Reporting to the Country Director of Sales, you will shape sales strategies, manage key accounts and represent the hotel at major fairs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify prospective accounts, analyse historical data and create action plans for key accounts.
• Attend domestic and international fairs to promote the hotel in line with the Business/Marketing Plan.
• Prioritise domestic market sales, focusing on local travel trade and corporate accounts.
• Coordinate international market activities with the Country Director of Sales.
• Manage room availability approvals during high‑booking periods in collaboration with operations.
• Maintain the right market mix to protect product quality and reduce long‑term dependence.
• Hold regular coordination meetings with Rooms Division, Reservations and F&B teams.
• Execute 5‑7 personal sales/courtesy calls and 10 telephone calls daily while ensuring prompt correspondence.
• Oversee staff vacation and holiday balances and report to HR.
• Assume Duty Manager responsibilities when scheduled and support task‑force teams for new openings.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Marketing or a vocational hospitality diploma.
• 8‑10 years of sales experience in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operational standards and documentation.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage high‑volume sales activities and coordinate with multiple hotel departments.
