Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the full finance function for operations in Qatar, ensuring robust financial governance, compliance with local laws, and accurate reporting. This senior position combines strategic financial planning with hands‑on management of accounting, treasury, budgeting, and ERP systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire finance function, including accounting, treasury, budgeting, and reporting.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes and prepare IFRS‑compliant financial statements.
• Ensure full compliance with Qatari commercial law, tax regulations and Qatar Central Bank requirements.
• Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts and monitor variances.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, bank relationships and optimise working capital.
• Maintain and improve ERP systems, preferably SAP Business One, ensuring data accuracy and system controls.
• Supervise accounts payable and receivable, implement credit control policies.
• Handle intercompany transactions, cross‑border reconciliations and group consolidation reporting.
• Lead, develop and evaluate the finance team in line with Qatar labour law.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading finance functions within the Qatari regulatory environment.
• Hands‑on expertise with ERP systems, preferably SAP Business One.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Qatari tax, commercial law and QCB requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, treasury and audit processes.
• Experience building and developing high‑performing finance teams.
