Division Chief - Adult Psychiatry for Women's Mental Health

About the role

The Division Chief for Women’s Mental Health reports to the Chair of Women’s Services and provides clinical, education, research, and executive management leadership for the division. The role combines strategic planning, resource management, and high‑quality patient care across consultation, emergency, clinic, and inpatient settings while allowing the incumbent to maintain a reduced personal clinical and research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Define the vision, strategic direction, and growth plan for the Division of Women’s Mental Health and oversee implementation.
• Recommend clinical privileges, appointments, reappointments and corrective actions, while fostering mentorship and academic career development.
• Manage the division’s financial performance, budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance with Joint Commission International and Qatar health authorities.
• Lead service planning, development, and capacity planning to guarantee optimal coverage across all care settings.
• Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and clinical governance structures that support high‑quality, safe care.
• Drive continuous quality improvement, set performance targets, and oversee research, teaching, and publication activities.

Required profile

• MD, MBBS or equivalent degree.
• Residency training in Psychiatry.
• Subspecialty Fellowship in Women’s Mental Health or equivalent certification.
• 10+ years post‑residency clinical experience in psychiatry.
• 5+ years of academic leadership in the specialty.
