Equipment/Packages Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Saipem is seeking an experienced Buyer to manage the procurement of equipment and packages for its projects in Qatar. The role involves handling the full purchase cycle, from request to contract award, while ensuring compliance with cost, time, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) based on purchase requests and support vendors in preparing technical and commercial proposals.
• Prepare commercial bid tabulations, compare proposals, and recommend actions to improve results.
• Lead negotiations, draft purchase orders or sub‑contracts, and manage any deviations from standard terms.
• Close bid processes, communicate outcomes to selected and unsuccessful vendors.
• Monitor and negotiate revisions to purchase orders or sub‑contracts as needed.
• Ensure all activities follow Saipem procedures, tools, and systems.
• Review technical documentation attached to purchase requisitions and provide comments.

Required profile

• Procurement or related education background.
• Minimum 10 years of procurement experience.
• Fluent English (mandatory).

Required skills

• Professional knowledge of MS Office.
• Experience with SAP procurement modules.
