Finance Operations Accountant

About the role

The Finance Operations Accountant will own the end‑to‑end accounting for finance and operating leases as well as inventory transactions. You will ensure compliance with IFRS 16 and other International Financial Reporting Standards while providing accurate, timely financial information to internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes for lease accounting, including journal preparation, reconciliations and reporting schedules.
• Interpret lease contracts, manage amendments and terminations, and maintain reconciliation with contract and fixed‑asset modules.
• Drive lease governance forums to capture all lease events and settle lease liabilities according to delegation of authority.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, obsolescence provisions and adjustments for cash‑backs, rebates and other items.
• Prepare analysis packs on lease and inventory balances, summarise insights for management reviews.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies for leases and inventory, ensuring alignment with IFRS.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and explanations to achieve clean audit outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation and automation.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of IFRS 16 and International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Proven experience in lease and inventory accounting within a corporate finance environment.
• Ability to interpret complex contracts and develop robust financial controls.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
