General Manager – Sales & Marketing (Automotive)

About the role

This senior executive position leads sales and marketing for one of Papua New Guinea's largest automotive distributors. Reporting to the COO, you will shape national growth strategy, manage a multi‑brand portfolio and drive commercial performance across sales, fleet, key accounts, used vehicles and marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute national sales and marketing strategies to increase unit sales, profitability and market share.
• Lead product planning, pricing, positioning and national product launches.
• Manage relationships with global manufacturers, OEMs and key stakeholders.
• Strengthen fleet, government and corporate sales channels.
• Improve forecasting, inventory management and demand planning.
• Mentor and develop sales and marketing teams across a nationwide dealer network.
• Identify new business opportunities and growth initiatives.

Required profile

• 10+ years senior leadership experience in automotive distribution or a related industry.
• Proven track record of increasing sales, profitability and market share.
• Significant P&L responsibility and commercial accountability.
• Experience managing multi‑brand portfolios and geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong OEM, manufacturer or distributor relationship management.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing or related field.
