GRP Supervisor / Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced GRP Supervisor / Technician to lead and oversee GRP piping fabrication, installation, joining, lamination, repair and maintenance activities on oil & gas projects in Doha. The role requires strong technical knowledge of GRP/FRP systems, compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) procedures, and effective coordination with client engineers and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all GRP piping fabrication, installation, joining, lamination, repair and maintenance works.
• Verify site measurements, dimensional checks and conduct field inspections.
• Ensure compliance with PTW requirements and site safety procedures.
• Coordinate with client engineers, inspectors, supervisors and other site personnel.
• Guarantee that all GRP work follows project specifications, approved procedures, drawings and client requirements.
• Oversee joining and lamination activities and the correct application of approved repair procedures.
• Monitor inspection and testing activities, including visual inspection, hardness testing, dimensional checks and hydrostatic testing.
• Identify quality issues, drive corrective actions and ensure final acceptance.
• Maintain proper documentation and track progress against project schedules and quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in GRP/FRP piping works, preferably in the oil & gas sector.
• Strong practical knowledge of GRP piping fabrication, installation, joining, lamination and repair.
• Good understanding of oil & gas piping materials, specifications and site practices.
• Familiarity with PTW systems, inspection requirements and testing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, specifications and repair procedures.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with clients and project teams.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise site personnel effectively.
