Programme Officer – Qatar Country Programme (Expedited Recruitment)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Programme Officer to lead the Qatar Country Programme. The role involves managing, coordinating and overseeing programme activities that support migration management, labour mobility, migrant protection and related priorities across Qatar.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the development and implementation of the Qatar Country Programme, ensuring effective administrative, operational and financial management of projects.
• Provide operational guidance and technical supervision to national and international staff, supporting programme strategy and addressing operational challenges.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with UN agencies, humanitarian organisations, government bodies and community stakeholders to facilitate successful programme delivery.
• Identify emerging priorities, contribute to the design of new projects and ensure they are built on a solid results framework.
• Monitor programme performance, reporting and compliance with IOM policies and donor requirements.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree and proven experience in programme management, preferably in migration, humanitarian or development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise diverse teams and coordinate with multiple partners, including UN agencies and government entities.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
