Retail Sales Assistant – Home Furnishings

About the role

The Retail Sales Assistant will represent the IKEA brand in Qatar, helping customers find the right home‑furnishing solutions while maintaining high merchandising standards. You will work in a fast‑paced showroom environment, driving sales and ensuring product availability.

Key responsibilities

• Promote sales by identifying opportunities, offering solutions and suggesting add‑ons to meet targets.
• Suggest improvements to sales processes and address slow‑moving items.
• Maintain full product displays using company merchandising methods.
• Become an expert on the Home Furnishing Business product range.
• Stay informed about local market developments and customer feedback.
• Provide updates to the Sales Manager on customer issues and product gaps.
• Conduct daily inspections of product positioning, price labels and communication media.
• Review stock levels daily and recommend orders to the Shopkeeper.
• Coordinate stock information with the Procurement Executive.
• Build relationships with customers to establish trust and confidence.
• Determine customer needs, prepare pro‑forma invoices and maintain contact.
• Follow up on quotations to convert them into actual sales.

Required profile

• Secondary education (high school) completed.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar retail sales role.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Strong customer focus and a sales‑driven mindset.
