Rolling Operator – Steel Mill (Qatar)

About the role

The Rolling Operator will run and monitor steel rolling mill equipment at Qatar Steel, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This position works in a shift‑based, high‑tempo industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and adjust rolling mill machinery, stands, guides, and rollers.
• Monitor process parameters such as speed, temperature, pressure, and material flow.
• Inspect steel products for dimensional or surface defects during rolling.
• Coordinate with control‑room operators, supervisors, maintenance, and quality teams.
• Perform routine equipment checks, report abnormalities, and assist with start‑up, shutdown, and change‑over activities.
• Maintain production records, shift reports, and operating logs while following SOPs and safety procedures.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience as a Rolling Mill Operator, preferably in a steel plant or heavy‑industrial setting.
• Good knowledge of steel rolling processes, equipment, and industrial safety practices.
• Ability to monitor and adjust machine operating parameters and respond to process abnormalities.
• Strong observation, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work shifts in a demanding environment.
